A Harlingen woman is recovering from a domestic violence attack where she had to use a BBQ fork to defend herself from her boyfriend.
Harlingen police arrested 24-year-old Noe Alfredo Ramos on domestic violence charges late Saturday night.
Investigators told Action 4 News that it all started with a fight between Ramos and his girlfriend.
Officers were called to 25000 block of Palmetto Drive around 11:30 p.m. Saturday.
Police said Ramos turned violent during the argument, choked his girlfriend and slammed her head on the floor.
The woman allegedly used a BBQ fork in self defense during the attack.
Police said the woman fled the home after Ramos grabbed a kitchen knife and threatened her, her children and her parents.
Investigators did not report any major injuries while officers charged Ramos with assault impeding breathing and aggravated assault.
Ramos appeared before a Harlingen municipal court judge on Sunday morning where he was issued $175,000 dollars in bonds.
