Authorities are searching by land and air for nine people who allegedly fled from an illegal immigrant stash house in San Juan.
It all happened at a home at 503 West Owassa Road around 2 p.m. Tuesday.
San Juan police told Action 4 News that officers had been watching the house for at least two hours before raiding the home.
Authorities found 59 illegal immigrants and one child during a consent search of the home.
Investigators said at least nine people fled the house prompting a search on the ground and by helicopter.
Some of the immigrants inside the home said they had not been fed in more than a week.
Neighbors told Action 4 News that they were surprised that the home was being used as part of a human smuggling operation.
