Hidalgo County helping residents prepare for hurricane season

Hidalgo County is teaming up with local resource centers to prepare residents for hurricane season.

Residents are reminded that the storms are never predictable that is why is it is important to have a plan in place to keep families safe.

Dare to Prepare fairs will be held throughout the county from June 15 to June 28.

The goal of the fairs is to help residents get the necessary resources and information they need to prepare for the possible storms.

When preparing for a hurricane, it is important to have seven days worth of supplies in case relief forces are not immediately available.
