A Hidalgo County bar is behind bars after authorities allegedly found more than $70,000 dollars worth of cocaine in his car.
Hidalgo County Sheriff TMs Office deputies arrested 46-year-old Pedro Reyna on a possession of a controlled substance charge on Tuesday night.
Investigators told Action 4 News that deputies received a tip that a large load of drugs would be at Raul Longoria and Sioux Roads in San Juan.
Deputies set up surveillance and saw Reyna drive up in a car.
Authorities searched the trunk of the car and found three bundles with six pounds of cocaine inside a backpack.
Deputies said the drugs are worth about $70,000 dollars on the streets.
Reyna is expected to be arraigned before Hidalgo County Justice of the Peace Rosa Trevio on Wednesday morning.
Court records show that Reyna had previous arrests for DWI and a hit-and-run accident.
