High school teacher charged with sexually abusing student

A Brownsville high school teacher is facing criminal charges after being accused of sexually abusing a former student.

Brownsville police arrested 29-year-old Isai Espinoza on multiple criminal charges early Monday afternoon.

Investigators said the IDEA Frontier College Prep teacher is accused of sexually abusing a female student.

Authorities are not releasing details but investigators confirmed U.S. Deputy Marshals arrested him in Los Fresnos.

Espinoza is facing two counts of indecency with a child by contact and improper relationship between an educator and student.

IDEA Public Schools confirmed that Espinoza was a teacher but is no longer employed there.

Administrators reported that they are cooperating with police.
