Home invasion leads to Edinburg immigrant stash house

An investigation into a Sunday night home invasion lead authorities to a home in Edinburg where police found at least 30 illegal immigrants.

Investigators told Action 4 News that that the home invasion happened in the Mission area on Sunday night.

Two people were arrested in connection with the incident but their identities have not been released.

Investigators followed clues to a home off Rodriguez and Monte Cristo Roads in Edinburg early Monday afternoon.

Authorities found at least 30 illegal immigrants inside the home.

Police were only able to arrest 15 of the immigrants while the other fled.

Investigators said the immigrants appear to be from different Central American nations.

Authorities are searching the area for the other immigrants.

Animal control officers had to remove two pit bulls presumably used as guard dogs from the home.
