Home invasion suspect who fought with woman now behind bars

Home invasion suspect Juan Antonio Gomez

One of five suspects who stormed a Mission home armed with a shotgun is now behind bars.

Mission police arrested 39-year-old Juan Antonio Gomez in connection to the crime.

Investigators said Gomez was one of five men who forced their way into a home on the 3300 North Stewart Road.

The gunmen demanded money, drugs and jewelry but the homeowner claims they had the wrong house and fought them.

Police arrested Gomez after identifying him with home video surveillance footage.

Gomez is alleged to have played a key role in the robbery.

Mission Police Cpl. Manuel Casas spoke to Action 4 News about Gomez TMs arrest.

"He was the main guy kicking in the door, Cpl. Casas said. Two kicks and they were in. And once they were in the second subject was wearing a possible ballistic vest and carrying a shotgun, you know they stormed the place in a tactical fashion."

Four suspects remain at large but their names have not been released to the public at this time.

Anyone with information is asked to call Mission Crime Stoppers at (956) 581-TIPS or (956) 581-8477.
