House condemned after marijuana found in bunker

Drug raid

McAllen police found 2,000 pounds of marijuana hidden inside an underground bunker.

Authorities raided the home on Malaga and Taylor Road Wednesday afternoon.

Once inside the home, police said they found a tunnel that led to the underground bunker.

Police said the bunker, where several packages of marijuana were found, is almost the size of the house.

Two people inside the home were taken into custody. Authorities are searching for another suspect.

Police believe the home was also an illegal immigrant stash house.

The house has been condemned because so much of the ground has been dug up.

Animal control took several dogs from the backyard.

Authorities said the reason they hid the marijuana underneath the home was to contain the odor of the marijuana.
