The digital transition is just days away and with hurricane season underway, it's more important than ever to make sure households have access to weather updates and emergency information.
For consumers with battery-powered analog television sets, experts advise to connect a battery-powered digital-to-analog converter box to receive emergency warnings when the power goes out.
Some valley residents said they are ready for the switch.
"We are ready. Our television sets are plasma and I believe they already have the DTV system integrated, so we don't need the converter boxes," said Juan Pea.
