ICE agent arrested for disturbance at Harlingen airport
A U.S. Immigration & Customs Enforcement (ICE) agent found himself on the other side of the law after being arrested for a disturbance at the Harlingen airport.
Harlingen police arrested 42-year-old Yasser Yahia Hassan on a public intoxication charge late Friday afternoon.
The incident happened at the Valley International Airport where Hassan allegedly had a gun and wanted to hurt himself.
Several police cars responded to the scene.
In an incident report, police officers wrote that Hassan appeared drunk with alcohol on his breath and blood shot eyes.
Officers arrested the ICE agent at the scene and seized his gun.
According to an incident report, the gun was his duty weapon.
Jail records show that Hassan was released from custody on Friday night after posting a $337 dollar bond for the Class C misdemeanor offense.
Action 4 News contacted ICE about the incident but a response was not immediately available.
