Identity released for man found dead in South Padre hotel

A spring breaker found dead at a South Padre Island Hotel has now been identified. South Padre Island police told Action 4 they are awaiting toxicology results for Gerald Plescia of Freehold, New Jersey.

Plescia, who was visiting the island with a group of classmates, was found by his roommate unresponsive in their comfort suites room off Padre Boulevard around 10:30 Wednesday morning.

Authorities are investigating the 23-year-old TMs death.

At this time foul play is not suspected.

An autopsy has been ordered to find the cause of death for the 23-year-old.
