Investigators continue to search for two teens accused of participating in an aggravated kidnapping earlier this week, according to a news release from the Hidalgo County Sheriff's Office.

Sheriff's investigators say 19-year-old Javier Flores and 17-year-old Leonardo Romero are both wanted for aggravated kidnapping. Romero is also wanted for deadly conduct, according to the news release.

Investigation began on Saturday when Sheriff's deputies responded to the 220 block of Marc Drive in Mission.

Deputies met with a woman who claimed five men wielding firearms approached her and two other people as they were exiting her property in a pickup truck. The woman claims the men instructed them not to move as the men allegedly pointed their firearms at the truck and attempted to open the door. At one point during the incident, one of the suspect's firearms discharged. The men returned to a small black car and drove away.

On Tuesday, deputies responded to the same residence in reference to a deadly conduct report. The woman claimed gunshots were fired towards her home, causing her to take cover and glass to break. Deputies discovered several bullet holes on the woman's home and vehicle.

On Wednesday, Justice of the Peace Homer Jasso charged four men for their roles in the incidents:

  • Sigifredo Flores, 22, of Pharr was charged with attempted aggravated kidnapping, a second-degree felony; and deadly conduct, a third-degree felony. Jasso set bond at $600,000. Flores remains at the Hidalgo County jail and couldn't be reached for comment.
  • Erik Manuel Matamoros, 18, of Edinburg was charged with attempted aggravated kidnapping, a second-degree felony; and deadly conduct, a third-degree felony. Jasso set bond at $600,000. Matamoros remains at the Hidalgo County jail and couldn't be reached for comment.
