The Harlingen Fire Department is continuing to figure out what caused a brush fire on Saturday evening.
The fire broke out around 6 p.m. near Expressway 83 and New Hampshire.
Fire crews had to block off parts of Arroyo Drive nearby in order to extinguish the flames before they threatened any homes.
No injuries were reported and no buildings were damaged.
People on the scene told Action 4 News the a strong scent of smoke filled the air because of the flames.
Fire Investigators are working to determine the exact cause of the fire.
