Jury hands down "not guilty" verdict in former marine's death

A jury has handed down a "not guilty" verdict for a man who had been accused of running over and killing a former marine jogging along a highway.

Juan Carlos Garcia appeared for the final day of his criminal negligent homicide trial in the 404th State District Court on Friday.

Garcia was accused in the March 2012 death of Eduardo Polanco, who was struck and killed by a car while jogging along Highway 100 near Los Fresnos.

A jury was selected on Tuesday and after several days of testimony, jurors found Garcia not guilty of criminal negligent homicde.
