A Reynosa woman is behind bars after a K-9 officer found more than $1.2 million dollars worth of cocaine hidden inside her SUV.

U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP) officers arrested Sandra Natalia Marin-Quiroz on Friday.

The 27-year-old Reynosa woman drove up from Mexico at the Pharr International Bridge in an Isuzu Trooper.

Customs officers sent her SUV to secondary inspection where a K-9 officer alerted authorities to something suspicious.

Investigators reported finding 16 packages with about 40 pounds of cocaine hidden inside her SUV.

Court records show that Marin-Quiroz told authorities she got $100 dollars in expenses from a man named "Julio" but was supposed to receive more when the drugs were delivered.

Marin-Quiroz remains in federal custody in the Rio Grande Valley without bond.
