Kidnapped Harlingen man back home with family

The Harlingen man kidnapped by two armed men outside a local barber shop is back home with his family.

Harlingen Police Sgt. John Parrish told Action 4 News that Michael Sanchez Sr. was released Sunday afternoon near Weslaco.

The 67-year-old man had been kidnapped at gunpoint outsie a Harlingen barber shop on Friday.

He appears to be fine other than some minor injuries," he said.

Sanchez was beaten and then dragged out at gunpoint out of the Family Kuts located on the 3300 block of 77 Sunshine Strip in Harlingen.

Two men forced Sanchez into Red Chevy Silverado, before taking off.

They are described as Hispanic men in their late 20s or early 30's. One of them is 6 TM tall, heavy set and a bald head.

The other is described a medium set man, 5 TM5 and short black hear.

"[Sanchez] believes the suspects were from Mexico because of the very fluent Spanish that they spoke," Parrish said.
