Kids day care center exposed with dead roaches, rat droppings on report

The owner of Smart Kids Educational Day Care center on 1703 Boca Chica Boulevard admits she was shocked to learn that roaches and rat droppings were found during a recent health inspection.

Dora Williams tells the Food Patrol how pest control is part of her monthly maintenance and that the insect and rodent contamination were a first for the center.

The business, which scored 9 demerits, is ordered to clean and sanitize the cabinets, according to the report.

Williams says action has already been taken.

She also touts better inspection results over the last decade-plus in business.

If there was something there, it was the first time, she said. I TMm hoping we don TMt ever have that again because that TMs not something I want in my facility.

The day care center isn TMt the only kitchen on the Food Patrol TMs radar.
