Investigators arrested a 42-year-old La Feria woman on Wednesday after new developments emerged in a fatal crash.

Medical records show that 42-year-old Nanette Yvonne Alejandre’s blood alcohol content (BAC) was .100 approximately one hour after the time of a rural Progreso crash on Feb. 1, according to a criminal complaint obtained by CBS 4 News.

Preliminary investigation revealed the vehicle lost control and veered left onto oncoming traffic, where it was struck on it’s right side by a semi-trailer.

Alejandre’s passenger, 44-year-old Heliodoro Alejandre, was pronounced dead at the scene.

Nanette Alejandre had been previously accused of striking Heliodoro with her vehicle just before fatal crash occurred. She was charged with aggravated assault, a first-degree felony, on Feb. 8.

Texas Department of Public Safety investigators issued an arrest warrant for Alejandre on Wednesday after receiving “a truer blood alcohol content,” according to the criminal complaint.

Alejandre was charged with intoxicated manslaughter, a second-degree felony.

Court records don’t list an attorney for Alejandre, who couldn’t be reached for comment.
