Man accused of ramming Valley EMS gets $750,000 bond

Ramon Garcia, Jr. was arrested and charged with three counts of Aggravated Assault and one count of Assault after he allegedly rammed his vehicle into a Valley EMS ambulance.

Garcia, Jr. was arrested at Edinburg Regional Hospital on Wednesday following the incident.

Hidalgo County Sheriff Investigators said Garcia, Jr. beat up his girlfriend and then tried to get into the ambulance with her as paramedics prepared to transport her to the hospital.

Those same paramedics told him he could not go.

That is when Garcia, Jr. rammed the back and front of the ambulance several times as the paramedics drove down F-M 490 from Hargill to Expressway 281.

Garcia TMs bond was set at $750,000.

No one else was seriously injured during the incident.
