Man arrested after throwing large piece of asphalt

      A Harlingen man was arrested on an aggravated assault with a deadly weapon charge.

      Michael Anthony Madia allegedly threw a large piece of asphalt at a man's face during an argument.

      The incident happened on the 500 block of South E Street.

      The victim had to use his left arm to prevent the rock from hitting him in the face, but he was still injured in the process, according to a police report.

      The 30-year-old was arrested for aggravated assault with a deadly weapon and was transported to the Harlingen city jail.

      Aggravated assault is a second degree felony.

      His bond was set at $20,000.
