A man is behind bars after allegedly having child pornography on his phone and for having sexual contact with a child.

Dennis Garcia was arrested after troopers found videos and photos of a 17-year-old girl on his phone.

The 18-year-old was pulled over after he failed to switch lanes when a trooper had his lights activated, while he was pulled over on the side of the road.

It is state law to vacate the lane closest to the emergency vehicle.

A trooper noticed that the 18-year-old driver turned around to tell a person sitting in the back something.

When the trooper questioned Garcia, he said they were headed back from South Padre Island after not being able to rent a condo.

Garcia allegedly gave the trooper consent to search the vehicle and marijuana was found in the rear center passenger TMs backpack.

According to documents obtained by Action 4 News, Garcia gave troopers consent to search his phone after they noticed he was nervous and after they found the drug.

On his cell phone, they found sexually explicit photos and videos of a female TMs private areas before she turned 17-years-old.

Garcia allegedly admitted to troopers that he met the girl on Facebook and had seen her twice in person.

When asked why he had the photos on his phone, he allegedly said, You know how it is sir. I show them to my friend and they show me what they have on their phones.

One of the girls in the vehicle allegedly told troopers that when they were at South Padre Island, Garcia rented a hotel room.

She allegedly admitted that Garcia touched her breast.

The girl allegedly told Garcia to stop and asked him to take her home because it was getting late.

Garcia was arrested for indecency with the 15-year-old child and possession of child pornography for the photos and videos of the 17-year-old.

His bond is set at $100,000 for both counts.
