San Benito police arrested a man for calling 911 and telling the operator he was armed with a handgun after saying he was going to use it on someone.

Daniel Romero Jr. called police on Monday after allegedly being intoxicated and said he wanted officers to respond immediately after two females were arguing at his residence.

When police arrived no gun was found, and he was placed under arrest for making false abusive calls.

Authorities found out that Romero had outstanding court warrants.

He was taken to the San Benito City Jail, and his bond is set at $8,000.
