A Starr County man is behind bars weeks after allegedly tried to run over a Rio Grande City police officer.
Rio Grande City police arrested Luciano Elizondo on multiple criminal charges late Sunday night.
Investigators told Action 4 News that Elizondo was wanted for an incident that happened back on July 5th.
Elizondo was allegedly behind the wheel of stolen car and refused to stop.
Rio Grande City police said Elizondo allegedly tried to run over a police and reversed the car into a police unit before escaping.
Elizondo remained at large for more than two weeks until this arrest on Sunday night.
The Starr County man remains in custody under $550,000 dollars in bonds for evading arrest and attempted capital murder charges.
