San Juan police recommend home owners set up surveillance video around their homes to help catch home invasion suspects.
According to authorities, it was a key element to making an arrest.
San Juan PD charged Juan Carlos Lopez-Trevino with aggravated robbery, assault with a deadly weapon and evading arrest.
Investigators told Action 4 News he left the two other suspects at the home they broke into and led officers on a high speed chase.
The chase ended in Donna off Expressway 83 and Lopez-Trevino abandoned the truck he was driving.
San Juan PD tracked the suspect in Donna on Tuesday.
"When we made contact with him he immediately started making comments about the robbery that he had nothing to do with it. We knew we were on the right track," San Juan Sergeant Rolando Garcia said.
Police said the suspects chose the house because they believed there was a stash of drugs.
Authorities searched the home and no drugs were found.
Investigators identified one of the two remaining suspects as Lopez-Trevino's cousin, Salome Lopez-Trevino. A bond of $900,000 was set for Juan Carlos Lopez-Trevino.
