Man charged after falling asleep in someone else's car

A La Feria man is behind bars after authorities found him asleep in a stranger's vehicle.

Jonathan Lee Capuchines was arrested on charges of criminal trespass and public intoxication.

Harlingen police said they were originally dispatched to the house on the 25000 block of Bass Boulevard in Harlingen in reference to a burglary of a vehicle.

However, the 23-year-old was found asleep inside the vehicle.

Police allege he displayed signs of intoxication.

He did not have permission from the owner to be inside the vehicle, so he was arrested by Harlingen police.

Capuchines was booked at the Harlingen police department where authorities discovered he had outstanding Harlingen warrants.

He was given a $700 bond and fined $1,208.60 for criminal trespass, outstanding warrants, and public intoxication.
