A man wanted for stabbing his wife is dead after crashing into a metal pole during an early Tuesday morning accident.
The fatal accident happened near the intersection of Business 83 and Los Ebanos in Mission just after 1 a.m. Tuesday.
Mission police told Action 4 News that multiple witnesses called 911 to report the accident.
Investigators said 40 year-old Earl Michael Hari was driving a white Dodge Ram pickup was traveling at a high speed when he crashed into a metal pole near railroad tracks.
Hari was reportedly conscious and breathing when EMS and police arrived.
Paramedics rushed Hari to the McAllen Medical Center for treatment but was pronounced dead just before 3 a.m. Tuesday.
The cause of the crash is unknown but police tell Action 4 News callers reported the man appeared to be intoxicated at the time.
Corpus Christi police reported that Hari was wanted for stabbing his wife this past weekend.
Court records show that Corpus Christi police had previously arrested Hari for reckless driving back in February 2002.
An autopsy is expected to be performed on Tuesday to learn more about Hari's death and state at the time of the accident.
