Man flees home after threatening wife with a knife

      A Harlingen man is behind bars after he threatened his wife during an argument.

      The incident happened Tuesday around 4:30 p.m. at Rosemount Apartments in Harlingen.

      According to police, Arturo Palencia Jr. grabbed a knife during an argument with the victim.

      Palencia allegedly used the knife in a threatening manner.

      Police said the victim then feared for her life.

      The 23-year-old fled the scene in the family TMs vehicle.

      Palencia returned when police were at the apartment.

      Authorities arrested Palencia, and according to records, the 23-year-old had multiple outstanding warrants.

      Palencia was charged with aggravated assault with a deadly weapon, a first degree felony, and municipal court warrants.

      A total bond of $152,335 was set for the 23-year-old.
