Two men are facing criminal charges after one of them allegedly fled into the Arroyo Colorado during a Harlingen traffic stop.
Harlingen police arrested 26-year-old Angel DeJesus Trevio and his 25-year-old passenger Orlando Gonzalez.
Investigators told Action 4 News that it all started with a traffic stop off Rangerville Road late Wednesday night.
Police reported that Trevio was driving and stopped the car at California and King Streets where Gonzalez allegedly bailed out.
Gonzalez went down into the Arroyo Colorado but was caught a few blocks away on Colorado Street.
It's not clear why Gonzalez ran but police charged him with evading arrest and public intoxication.
Officers arrested Trevio for outstanding traffic tickets and municipal court warrants totalling $8,389 dollars.
