A Harlingen resident is behind bars after he allegedly broke into a home and assaulted the residents.
Harlingen police arrested Estevan Rodriguez after he fled the scene on a skateboard.
The incident happened on the 1500 block of South H Street early Thursday morning.
According to police, 22-year-old Rodriguez forced his way through the front door of the residence.
Police told Action 4 News that Rodriguez became upset after he saw the victim and another man in the home.
According to the Harlingen Police Department, Rodriguez pushed the female victim and the witness attempted to stop the suspect.
An officer arrested Rodriguez on the block of SouthJ Street after he fled the scene on a skateboard.
The 22-year-old was charged with burglary of habitation with intent to commit assault, a 2nd degree felony, and was transported to the Harlingen City jail.
A bond of $22,000 was set for Rodriguez.
