      Man found dead at home, car stolen

      NOT ACTUAL CAR: Police searching for similar vehicle

      A man was found dead by family members, and the Brownsville Police Department is searching for suspects in the alleged homicide.

      Servando Betancourt was found unconscious by his family around 3:00 p.m. on Friday.

      The crime happened on the 2900 block of Sandia St. in Brownsville.

      Paramedics were called, but Betancourt was not breathing when they arrived.

      The Brownsville Police Department is investigating the crime as a homicide.

      The 51-year-old TMs 2003 Blue Ford Escort was stolen after the alleged homicide.

      The vehicle TMs license plate number is CD8-T468 and anyone with information on the crime is asked to call Brownsville Crime Stoppers at (956)546-TIPS.

      All tips remain anonymous and persons providing information leading to an arrest may be eligible for a reward.

      An autopsy has been ordered.
