Man gets nearly 19 years in prison for possessing child pornography
A Mission man will spend nearly 19 years in prison for possessing child pornography.
Jose Alaniz-Allen plead guilty Jan. 31 for receiving and distributing pornography off his computer.
The 23-year-old headed back to court on Tuesday to face sentencing.
In November 2012, Homeland Security Investigators (HSI) confiscated several of Alaniz-Allen's media devices.
Forensic examiners said they found 23 movies of young children engaging in sexually exploited conduct.
According to authorities, the victim TMs depicted in the images and videos were all under the age of 5.
Alaniz-Allen will remain in custody pending transfer to a U.S. Bureau of Prisons facility.
The 23-year-old will serve five years of supervised release when he completes his prison term.
He will also be ordered to register as a sex offender.
