Man gets six years in Brownsville library child porn case

      Juan Luis Sanchez

A state district judge sentenced a man who downloaded child pornography at the Brownsville Public Library to six years in prison.

Authorities arrested Juan Luis Sanchez on possession of child pornography charges back in March 2009.

The 27-year-old Brownsville man appeared before 404th state District Court Judge Elia Cornejo Lopez on Monday where he entered in a plea agreement.

As part of the deal, Sanchez received six years of state prison for 10 counts of child pornography.

Chuck Mattingly with the Cameron County District Attorney TMs Office said there is a zero tolerance for such crimes committed in the community.

This defendant was using a public library to prey on innocent children and child predators deserve to be punished swiftly and harshly," Mattingly said. "Justice has been served.
