Man in underwear steals from movie theater parking lot

Harlingen Police Department: Nathan Pinkerton

A Harlingen man was arrested on Saturday after he took off his clothes, stole an iPad and fled from police.

Police received a call around 11 p.m. about a man, later identified as Nathan Scott Pinkerton, in his underwear hiding suspiciously between vehicles in the Cinemark 16 parking lot.

When officers arrived they found clothes, believed to be Pinkerton TMs, in front of a car.

A victim told officers the suspicious man entered their car and stole an iPad from the back seat.

Several witnesses said the man fled the scene, traveling on foot.

Hours later, officers were able to find Pinkerton near Wilson Road and North Frontage Road.

Pinkerton was sitting slumped over near a pole still in his underwear, socks and a t-shirt, according to police.

The 32-year-old was charged with public intoxication and burglary of a motor vehicle.
