A Harlingen man is behind bars after he allegedly molested a 9-year-old girl moments after she returned home from school.

Cameron County Sheriff's Department deputies arrested 31-year-old Marcelino Morales on an indecency with a child charge on Monday.

Court records released on Thursday show Morales is accused of molesting a girl at a rural home near Baker Potts Road and Business 83 in Harlingen.

Action 4 News does not identify victims of sexual abuse victims but the records reveal that Morales had access to the girl and her home through her family.

The records show that the girl's older sister arrived home from her school finding Morales acting suspiciously with his belt and found her younger sister dressing herself in the bathroom.

The 9-year-old did not reveal what happened until her mother arrived home saying that she was scared her mother would get mad at her.

Deputies searched the area for Morales and found him walking down Business 83.

Court records show that Morales was "very uncooperative" with deputies and did not give them any information.

The Harlingen man appeared before Cameron County Magistrate Judge Alfredo Cordova where he was issued a $75,000 bond.

Morales remains in custody at the Cameron County Jail as of Thursday afternoon.
