More than $2,000 was taken, and Starr County deputies are investigating an armed robbery which took place at an eight-liner establishment.
It happened on Saturday after 10 p.m. at an eight-liner establishment on KCTM FM Road 103 which is east of Rio Grande City in an area known as La Puerta.
Witnesses tell investigators three armed men got out of a dark Dodge Charger and entered the building by force before ordering everyone inside to get on the floor.
When deputies arrived on scene they discovered nearly everyone, including patrons and suspects, had fled the scene. Only one of the workers stayed behind.
The man had injuries to his face and told investigators that one of the armed suspects kicked him in the face.
The victim refused medical services, and is not co-operating with investigators.
Investigators tell Action 4 the suspects wore sunglasses and ball-caps during the robbery.
The Starr County Sheriff's office seized 46 eight-liner machines as evidence.
