Man left in critical condition after motorcycle accident in Pharr
A man is fighting for his life after being involved in a motorcycle accident on a busy road in Pharr.
It all happened on the 400 block of West Sioux Road at 1:01 p.m. Tuesday.
Pharr police told Action 4 News that the accident involved a McAllen man on a motorcycle and a McAllen woman driving a Ford Fusion.
Sgt. Mirabelle Garza said a 35-year-old Emilio Santiago Coronado was heading east on the motorcycle while a 25-year-old May Wells was driving the Ford Fusion and heading west.
Wells reportedly moved into the center lane and was making a left turn to enter a business parking lot when her car hit Coronado's motorcycle.
Sgt. Garza said the McAllen man was not wearing a helmet and received life-threatening injuries from the accident.
Paramedics rushed Coronado to a local hospital where he was listed in critical condition.
The accident remains under investigation but Sgt. Garza said investigators believe Wells failed to yield the right-of-way.
