A man out on probation for raping a 12-year-old girl is back behind bars after being arrested at an international bridge in Brownsville.
U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP) officers arrested 46-year-old Martin Noe Muzquiz on Monday.
Muzquiz walked across the border from Mexico at Brownsville TMs B&M International Bridge.
A routine background check revealed that he was wanted to skipping out on his probation and sex offender registration requirements in Galveston.
Court records show that Galveston police arrested Muzquiz for raping a 12-year-old girl back in December 2006.
A judge sentenced Muzquiz to six years probation for the crime but Texas Department of Public Safety (DPS) records show he was listed as an absconder in January 2009.
The records show that Muzquiz is no stranger to the Rio Grande Valley where he was arrested by Brownsville police for burglary back in March 1989.
Muzquiz remains behind bars at the Cameron County Jail where he awaits extradition back to Galveston.
