Man pinned between two cars in Pharr accident

Authorities are investigating an accident where a driver hit a man pushing a broken down car off a highway.

Pharr police said the incident happened at the Nolana Avenue exit ramp for northbound Highway 281 around 2:47 a.m. Sunday.

Investigators told Action 4 News that three men were pushing a white Nissan Juke off the highway.

A red Chevy Camaro hit them from behind pinning 22-year-old Elsa resident Joel Gutierrez between both cars.

Paramedics rushed Gutierrez to a local hospital for non-life threatening injuries.

Investigators said the driver of the Camaro, identified as 22-year-old Roma resident Pablo Barrera, was taken to a hospital for treatment of minor injuries.

Police said the accident remains under investigation.
