A man was arrested by Brownsville police after he used counterfeit money at the flea market.
Vendors called police Saturday morning to report the crime. They said a man was buying several items with possible fake $100 bills.
A security officer at the market took the man, identified as Omar Trevino, into custody.
Trevino was found in possession of several $100 bills.
The 21-year-old was then taken to the police station for questioning.
Police said Trevino knew the money was counterfeit.
He was charged with nine counts of forgery and given a $20,000 bond for each count.
The case remains under investigation.
