Man shot in San Juan, suspects at large in two cars

Authorities are looking for two cars after a man was injured in a drive by shooting in downtown San Juan.

It all happened on 7th and King Streets just after 11:20 a.m. Thursday.

Several suspects allegedly involved in the shooting fled the scene in two cars.

San Juan police said the suspects fired 10 to 12 rounds from semi-automatic weapons.

Invsetigators confirmed one of the bullets hit a man but that he was not seriously injured.

Authorities issued an alert for the two passenger vehicles throughout Hidalgo County.

One of the vehicles was white while the the other was maroon.

No further description of the vehicles or the suspects was immediately available.

San Juan police confirmed that one suspect was taken into just after 1 p.m. Thursday but his identity has not been released.
