A man was arrested after he tried to head butt a Harlingen police officer on Thursday.
According to police, Jesus Manuel Huerta was taken into custody after he refused to cooperate.
An officer patrolling 7th and Jefferson Street around 11 a.m. could hear loud music coming from a Chevrolet SUV.
As the officer approached the car, he could see Huerta outside the car with a woman.
Police said Huerta appeared to be intoxicated and refused to comply when the officer asked him to turn down the music.
The 33-year-old continued to act aggressively towards the officer and began cursing, according to police.
As Huerta was being taken to the Harlingen patrol unit, he stopped walking, stiffened his lower body at attempted the head butt.
The 33-year-old was taken to the city jail and charged with Resisting Arrest along with a city Noise Ordinance.
His bonds totaled $1,606.
