A Harlingen man is behind bars after a weekend incident where he allegedly attacked another man with a knife.
Harlingen police arrested 40-year-old Jimmy Trevio Moody on an aggravated assault charge late Saturday night.
Investigators told Action 4 News that officers were called out to a home on the 8100 block of West Business 83 around 11:20 p.m. Saturday.
A man told police that he got up after his dogs were barking and found Moody standing in his front yard.
The man told police that he confronted Moody and that Moody then attacked him with a knife.
A motive is not clear but police said the victim used a tree limb to fend off the attack and suffered cuts to his abdomen, chest and wrist.
Paramedics rushed the victim to the Harlingen Medical Center for treatment while officers took Moody to jail.
Moody remains in custody at the Cameron County Jail under a $100,000 bond.
