Manhunt launched for man who robbed Harlingen convenience store

Convenience store robbed in Harlingen

Authorities have launched an overnight manhunt for a man who allegedly robbed a convenience store in Harlingen.

It all happened at the Stripes convenience store off Haverford Boulevard and the frontage road of Expressway 77/83 late Saturday night.

A suspect described at 5 feet 8 inches tall reportedly fled the scene.

Harlingen police were called to the scene where they searched the surrounding area and neighboring businesses for the suspect.

According to police communications, police in the neighboring town of La Feria were also put on alert.

Police turned away customers from the store while crime scene investigators searched the area for clues.
