Authorities are investigating an accidental shooting that ended with a 2-year-old boy being rushed to a hospital early Wednesday morning.
It all happened at a home on the 2600 block of 7th and a Half Street around 3 a.m. Wednesday.
McAllen police told Action 4 News that there was an "accidental discharge" from a gun inside the home with a bullet hitting a 2-year-old boy.
The boy was rushed to a hospital but information about the location of his injuries and medical condition were not immediately available.
But investigators reported that the injuries were non-life threatening.
Police reported that one of the boy's parents was detained for questioning but is not facing criminal charges at this time.
