McAllen gets big welcome home

The McAllen Boys & Girls Club Colt League Baseball team got a hero's welcome on Thursday.

The team wold the league's World series and was crowned World Champions for 15-16 year olds in Indiana on Wednesday.

Players from La Joya to Brownsville landed at McAllen's Miller International Airport on Thursday afternoon.

A crowd of parents and relatives were waiting to the see the champs holding the big trophy.

The players got a "Valley-style" homecoming with mariachis and cheers.

Third baseman Alvaro Moreno said every game was intense.

Coach Jorge Salinas said the team enjoyed themselves on the trip to Indiana.
