A McAllen parks employee is facing criminal charges after being accused of stealing city swimming pool supplies.
McAllen police arrested Jesus Guillermo Cerda on a state jail felony theft charge on Wednesday.
The 45-year-old Mission man is accused of stealing swimming pool supplies from his job at the McAllen Parks & Recreation Department.
It's not clear how the theft was discovered or what he did with the supplies but the case remains under investigation.
Under state law, state jail felony theft is considered taking property worth between $1,500 and $20,000 dollars.
Cerda appeared before a McAllen Municipal court judge where he was issued a $2,000 dollar bond.
