Two men are behind bars for shooting at an unmarked Rio Grande City police vehicle.
Jose Fuentes and Ryan Antonio Villarreal are charged with aggravated assault with a deadly weapon and remain in the Starr County jail.
The shooting happened after 1:30 a.m. Tuesday morning on Hidalgo Street.
Rio Grande City police tell Action 4 News an officer was driving down the street when shots were fired in the direction of the unmarked police truck.
One of the bullets pierced the front bumper of the truck.
The officer driving saw two men flee on foot.
Fuentes and Villarreal were arrested in connection to the shooting, an hour later.
No weapon has been recovered by authorities.
Both men told police they thought the truck belonged to someone they had a dispute with the day before.
No injuries associated with the shooting have been reported.
