Mercedes drug shooting suspect remains at large

      Authorities report that the suspect in a drug-related shooting outside Mercedes remains at large.

      Hidalgo County Sheriff's Office deputies identified the suspect as Jose Jaime Roque-Muoz.

      The 44-year-old man is accused of shooting David Lira on Mile 13 North just outside Mercedes early Saturday morning.

      Lira survived the shooting but Roque-Muoz fled the scene.

      Investigators told Action 4 News that the case is drug-related and Roque-Muoz should be considered "armed and dangerous."

      Deputies reproted that the victim had a previous arrest for marijuana at the Border Patrol's Falfurrias checkpoint.
