Mexican Navy: Zetas accountant, three others behind bars


Mexican authorities report that a man believed to be an accountant for the Zetas drug cartel is behind bars south of the border.

The Mexican Navy reported it arrested 32-year-old Raul Amberto Padilla-Gomez in the wealthy Monterrey suburb of San Pedro Garza Garcia on Wednesday.

Navy officials told Action 4 News that Padilla-Gomez is the accountant for the Zetas operations there.

Authorities also arrested three other alleged criminals at two other hSEMAR Photoomes identified as:

Omar Melesio Bejarano-Lescas, 35Enrique Padilla-Mendoza, 40Erick Humerto Gomez-Mendez, 21

Mexican Navy officials reported seizing cash, vehicles, weapons, ammunition and other items at the homes.

Officials reported that Padilla-Gomez was taken to Mexico City for prosecution.
