Training pilot Rodolfo Gonzalez is expected to face a judge today on 13 counts of aggravated assault with a deadly weapon.
Willacy County Sheriff investigators said the 20-year-old Mexico City man veered a small plane into boaters Saturday evening in Port Mansfield.
Investigators said Gonzalez had received his pilot's license recently from the Praat Flight Academy in Weslaco.
Authorities charged Gonzalez with 13 counts of aggravated assault. That's one count of each person aboard four boats.
A judge issued $650,000 dollars in bonds for Gonzalez.
He remains in custody at the Willacy County Jail.
